Here is an impossibly rare 1967 ‘I Am Experienced’ Official Jimi Hendrix Experience UK Fan Club membership booklet, signed by Jimi Hendrix on the inside in blue ballpoint pen, while adding, ‘To Carol Love always.’ Also signed by Mitch Mitchell in blue ballpoint, while adding ‘Love’ above his name and ‘xx’ beneath. This is one of the earliest cards issued as noted by membership No. A101 to a London-based fan. ‘The Official Jimi Hendrix Fan Club of Great Britain’ only ran for a brief period between May 1967 and May 1969. The fan club was launched to coincide with the release of Hendrix’ debut album, ‘Are You Experienced’ on 12 May 1967. Hendrix’ manager Chas Chandler served as chairman/club president, with Jane Simmons acting as club secretary. The original fan club was housed inside The Experience’s London-based management office, Anim, on Gerrard Street. In July 1968, the club would move to the offices of Track Records on Old Compton Street, London, where Simmons continued to serve as administrator until the club’s demise. Very few unsigned examples of this official fan club booklet have surfaced over the years, and prior to this, no signed examples of this rare booklet were known to exist. The oversized card measures 17cm x 11cm (6.7 inches x 4.5 inches) when unfolded. Accompanied by full Letters of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and Tracks UK.
